Sub domains - Extending your Website.
Sub-domains allow you
to create categories within the your main website, extending the accessibility
and usability of your information and website design. For example, if you
would like a clearly defined area within your website, such as a shop front,
you
can
create the
sub-domain 'shop.yourdomainname.com.au' and direct traffic to this mini-website
without conducting traffic away from your site to another.
Multiple Sub-Domains
It is also possible to setup multiple sub-domains for your domain name.
Sub-domains can also be used to create a development or testing website before
going live with a new website. You can also setup
special services that will not apply across your entire domain, but specificto
individual
sub-domains.
(Example: test.yourdomainname.com.au)
Acenet employs sub-domains throughout our website to manage the information
we offer to our clients. We have also setup two example sites to demonstate
the use of sub-domains for you to explore.
